Rock Legends' Relics: Oasis Guitar Auction Featuring Noel Gallagher's Iconic Instruments

A guitar previously owned by Noel Gallagher and damaged during the night Oasis disbanded is set to be auctioned off, potentially fetching up to half a million pounds. The band split in 2009 following a backstage altercation in Paris, where Liam Gallagher damaged Noel's 1960s red Gibson ES-355 guitar. The damaged guitar will be part of Propstore's music memorabilia live auction in October, with an estimated value of £250-500,000. Additionally, Noel Gallagher's Takamine FP460SC acoustic guitar, used to record Oasis' hit song Wonderwall, is also up for auction with an estimated value of £200-400,000.

The auction will feature around 150 items from Oasis, including guitars and other memorabilia. Zak Starkey, former drummer for the band, expressed pride in the opportunity for fans to own authentic memorabilia from the band's journey. The auction will showcase over 550 lots from various renowned artists, with a total estimated value exceeding £3 million. Notable items include John Lennon's tinted glasses, Michael Jackson's white fedora from Smooth Criminal, Freddie Mercury's kimono, Elvis Presley's 'grand prix' sunglasses, and Jimi Hendrix's handwritten lyrics for Straight Ahead.

Mark Hochman, music specialist at Propstore, described the auction as a celebration of music history, featuring iconic guitars, handwritten lyrics, and personal items that offer insight into the lives of legendary musicians. The Oasis online auction coincides with the band's reunion tour, providing fans with a unique opportunity to own a piece of their legacy. The two-day music memorabilia auction by Propstore will take place on October 23-24, starting at 3pm BST each day.
