The Racing College of Virginia at Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) is gearing up for the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville Speedway this weekend, with driver Jimmy Mullins leading the charge. Mullins, in his second season with the Racing College team, brings a wealth of racing experience to the track and is eager to showcase the team's progress.

Preparation for the race has been intense, with the Racing College team working tirelessly in the shop and conducting tests at South Boston Speedway. Students enrolled in the program have been actively involved in all aspects of the race car's development, demonstrating their readiness for the upcoming challenge.

Instructor Talmage Thomas highlighted the students' integral role in the preparation process, emphasizing their hands-on experience and dedication to the project. The Racing College of Virginia stands out as the sole program of its kind in the state, offering unique career studies certificates that can be applied towards an associate degree.

Following the Martinsville event, students will have the opportunity to showcase their car at local events and car shows, culminating in an Open House at the race shop on October 22.
