Keanu Reeves: From Hollywood Icon to Musician and Beyond

Keanu Reeves, known for his iconic roles in Hollywood, has gracefully transitioned into his 60s without much fanfare. His success in the John Wick movies has solidified his status as an action movie hero. Similarly, the legendary David Bowie, who was ahead of his time, invited Reeves' band Dogstar to open for him in 1995. Bowie, at 47, was already a music icon, experimenting with various styles and innovative lyric-writing techniques. Reeves, fresh off the success of "Speed," was also pursuing his passion for music with Dogstar, gaining popularity by performing at gigs and music festivals.

Despite initial skepticism, Dogstar's drummer, Robert Mailhouse, recalled the surreal experience of opening for Bowie, who personally selected them for a Halloween show at the Hollywood Palladium. The band's performance was well-received, even though the audience was initially unfamiliar with them. After a hiatus, Dogstar reunited in 2023, releasing a third album and embarking on a successful US tour the following year. Reeves, on the other hand, continues to expand his acting career with upcoming projects like a comedy with Aziz Ansari and a sequel to "Constantine," reuniting with Sandra Bullock for a romantic thriller.
