Conquered: Mark Millar's Epic Fantasy Comic Comes to Life on Kickstarter

Mark Millar, a renowned comic book creator, had his first comic book proposal rejected when he was just 13 years old. The rejected title, Conquered, featured a dragon attacking The White House and a storyline where fantasy creatures conquer America. Now, after 43 years and with a successful career in comics, Millar is bringing Conquered to life through a Kickstarter campaign. Teaming up with artist Valerio Giangiordano, known for his work on Nemesis: Rogue’s Gallery and Spawn, Millar is excited to share this ambitious project with fans. The story revolves around a portal opening in New York City, unleashing dragons, barbarians, and other fantasy creatures to conquer America and potentially the world.

Described as a mix of Independence Day and Game of Thrones, Conquered promises an epic tale of war between humanity and fantasy beings. The Kickstarter campaign for the first volume of the four-part series will run throughout October, offering fans a chance to support the project. Despite the fantastical elements, Millar aims to keep the story grounded and engaging for readers. The project is a collaboration with Side Hustle Comics, separate from Millar's work with Netflix, where his company Millarworld has produced popular titles like Jupiter's Legacy and The Chosen One.

Millar's creative vision for Conquered showcases his passion for storytelling and world-building. With the support of fans and backers, he hopes to bring this ambitious project to life and offer readers a thrilling and immersive experience. The Kickstarter campaign follows the success of Millar's previous project, Psychic Sam, which raised over $100,000 in pledges earlier this year. As a seasoned creator in the comic book industry, Millar continues to push boundaries and explore new storytelling possibilities, captivating audiences with his unique and imaginative narratives.
