George Springer's Hartford Whalers-Themed Batting Gloves to be Displayed at Hockey Hall of Fame

George Springer, the Toronto Blue Jays' seasoned outfielder, will be donating his Hartford Whalers-themed batting gloves to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto at the end of the baseball season. The gloves are a nod to his childhood team, the Hartford Whalers, which he supported while growing up in New Britain, Connecticut. Springer, who was born in 1989, fondly remembers the Whalers, who played their last game in Hartford in 1997 before moving to become the Carolina Hurricanes. The Hockey Hall of Fame was impressed by Springer's tribute and requested his gloves for display.
