Jimmy Kimmel Live! Takes New York: A Week of Special Tapings in Brooklyn

Jimmy Kimmel, the popular late-night host, has made his way to New York City for a week of special tapings of Jimmy Kimmel Live! from Brooklyn. This marks the seventh time Kimmel has hosted the show from the Brooklyn Academy of Music, a departure from his usual location at the El Capitan Theater in L.A. The first show featured guests like Ryan Reynolds, Josh Johnson, and Public Enemy, with Kimmel delivering his signature monologue filled with jokes about President Donald Trump, the New York Mets, and other current events.

Upcoming guests for Kimmel's Brooklyn shows include Stephen Colbert, Emily Blunt, Jeremy Allen White, Bruce Springsteen, and Tom Hanks. Kimmel joked about the show having to "stay on the move so the FCC can't get us" in his final monologue from L.A. before heading to the East Coast. The Brooklyn shows come shortly after the show returned to the air following a hiatus due to controversial comments made by Kimmel about Charlie Kirk's death.

Kimmel's show was pulled off the air after comments he made about Charlie Kirk's death were deemed inappropriate and insensitive by Sinclair, the broadcasting company that makes up the nation's largest ABC affiliate group. Kimmel had offered condolences to Kirk's family on social media and addressed the issue in his monologue. Despite initial boycotts by Sinclair and Nexstar Media, the show returned to all affiliated channels on Sept. 26.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC. Don't miss out on the latest stories by signing up for PEOPLE's free daily newsletter to stay informed about celebrity news and compelling human interest stories.
