The 2025-26 season schedule for the Professional Women’s Hockey League has been unveiled. The Minnesota Frost, the reigning two-time Walter Cup champions, will kick off the season by hosting the Toronto Sceptres at Grand Casino Arena on Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. The Frost's General Manager, Melissa Caruso, expressed excitement about being the first game of the season and looks forward to another competitive season.
The league's opening weekend will also see the debut of the new West Coast teams, Seattle and Vancouver, facing off against each other in Vancouver on the same day. The Frost will then travel to the West Coast to take on PWHL Seattle in the expansion team's home opener at Climate Pledge Arena on Nov. 28. The expansion teams will make their first visits to Minnesota in January, with Seattle playing the Frost on Jan. 11 and Vancouver debuting on Jan. 28.
The addition of the two new teams has expanded the league's schedule to a total of 120 games for the upcoming season, up from 90 games last season and 72 games in the inaugural season. Each team will play 30 regular-season matchups for the second consecutive year. The growth of women's hockey and the increased platform for players to showcase their talents have been highlighted by Frost Head Coach Ken Klee.
The upcoming season promises to be an exciting one for the PWHL, with more games, new teams, and increased opportunities for players to shine. Fans can look forward to a competitive and action-packed season as the league continues to grow and showcase the talent of professional women's hockey players.
