Final Destination: Bloodlines - The Next Chapter in the Thriving Franchise

The Final Destination franchise continues to thrive with the success of Final Destination: Bloodlines, which has become the highest-grossing installment in the series, raking in $315 million worldwide. New Line Cinema is now gearing up for the next chapter and has tapped Belgian filmmaker Michiel Blanchart to lead the project. Blanchart gained recognition for his award-winning short film, You’re Dead Helene, showcasing his unique blend of horror, comedy, and romance akin to early Edgar Wright. His debut feature, Night Call, made history by winning ten Magritte Awards, including Best Film and Best Director. Blanchart is currently working on adapting You’re Dead Helene into an English-language feature at Tri-Star Pictures, with Sam Raimi on board as producer.
The upcoming Final Destination film will see the return of producers Craig Perry, Sheila Hanahan Taylor, Jon Watts, Dianne McGunigle, and Toby Emmerich, with Warren Zide serving as executive producer. The screenplay is penned by Lori Evans Taylor, who co-wrote Final Destination: Bloodlines. The previous installment, Bloodlines, made a strong debut, opening at No. 1 worldwide and grossing $102 million in its opening weekend. The entire Final Destination franchise has amassed over $1 billion in box office revenue, solidifying its position as one of New Line Cinema's top horror franchises.
Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, Final Destination: Bloodlines followed a college student who must confront her violent nightmares to save her family from a grim fate. With the success of the franchise and the talented team behind the upcoming film, fans can expect another thrilling and suspenseful installment in the Final Destination series.
