Resident Evil Reboot Cast Expands: Zach Cherry, Kali Reis, and Johnno Wilson Join the Franchise

The cast of the upcoming Resident Evil reboot has expanded with the addition of Zach Cherry, Kali Reis, and Johnno Wilson. The film, directed by Zach Cregger, aims to pay homage to the original Capcom video games with new characters. The plot involves a hapless courier, a mysterious package, mutated creatures, and a corporate conspiracy. Cherry will play a scientist, Reis an ex-military character, and Wilson's role is yet to be revealed. Filming is set to begin in Prague in mid-October, with a theatrical release date of September 18, 2026.
The project is being produced and co-financed by Constantin Film, with Robert Kulzer, Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, Asad Qizilbash, and Carter Swan serving as producers. Oliver Berben and Victor Hadida are executive producers, and Nicole Brown from TriStar Pictures is overseeing the film for Sony Pictures. Cherry, known for his role in Apple TV's Severance, has also appeared in Amazon's Fallout and Marvel's Shang-Chi. Reis, a professional boxer turned actress, gained recognition for her performance in True Detective and has several upcoming projects. Wilson, a comedy actor, has appeared in various TV series and is known for his work at the Groundling Theatre.
Cherry is represented by CAA, Edna Cowan Management, and Felker Toczek, while Reis is represented by CAA, Authentic Talent, and Jackoway Austen. The Resident Evil reboot promises to bring a fresh take on the iconic horror franchise, blending elements from the original games with new characters and storylines.
