The Beatles Unveil Alternate Take of 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' and More from Anthology Collection

The Beatles have unveiled a new version of their song "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" from the upcoming Anthology reissue. This alternate take, titled "While My Guitar Gently Weeps (Take 27)," showcases George Harrison's attempt to channel his musical hero Smokey Robinson. The clip begins with Harrison ordering a simple meal and ends with a humorous moment as the band cuts the song short after Harrison struggles with a high note.

This release follows the sharing of another bonus track, "Helter Skelter (Second Version – Take 17)," from the Anthology Collection box set, set to be released on Nov. 21. The box set includes the original three Anthology albums and a new fourth installment, Anthology 4, featuring 13 previously unreleased tracks. Fans can pre-order the collection in various formats, including digitally, as a 12-LP or eight-CD set, or as a standalone three-LP or two-CD set for Anthology 4.

In addition to the music collection, a restored and remastered version of the eight-part Anthology documentary will premiere on Disney+ on Nov. 26, with a new ninth episode. Furthermore, a 25th-anniversary edition of The Beatles Anthology book is set to be released on Oct. 1. The Beatles continue to delight fans with rare and unreleased material, offering a deeper look into their iconic music and legacy.
