Freshman Goaltender Daniel Hauser Shines in Wisconsin Men's Hockey Team's 3-0 Victory Over Lindenwood

The No. 19/20 Wisconsin men's hockey team secured a 3-0 victory against the Lindenwood Lions with an outstanding performance by freshman goaltender Daniel Hauser, who made 22 saves during the game at Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Missouri. Wisconsin took the lead in the first period with a power-play goal from senior forward Christian Fitzgerald. Freshman forward Grady Deering extended the lead in the second period, and sophomore forward Ryan Botterill sealed the win with an empty-net goal in the third period. Despite Lindenwood's efforts with 22 shots on goal and six power-play opportunities, they were unable to score, resulting in a shutout victory for UW.

The game started with Fitzgerald scoring for Wisconsin 9:27 into the first period by capitalizing on a rebound from a shot by sophomore defenseman Logan Hensler on the power play.

Deering doubled Wisconsin's lead in the second period, finding the back of the net at the 17:12 mark to give the Badgers a comfortable advantage over Lindenwood.

Botterill secured the victory for Wisconsin with an empty-net goal at 19:46 in the third period, ensuring that the Badgers maintained their lead until the final buzzer.

Wisconsin's strong defensive performance, combined with Hauser's stellar goaltending, prevented Lindenwood from converting any of their scoring opportunities, resulting in a shutout win for the Badgers.
