Good Boy: A Haunting Tale Through a Dog's Eyes

Good Boy offers a unique take on the haunted-house genre by narrating the story from a dog's point of view. The film follows Todd, a man battling a serious illness, who moves with his dog to his late grandfather's old house in the countryside. However, strange occurrences in the farmhouse are ignored by Todd, despite his dog's warnings.
The movie, co-written and directed by Ben Leonberg, features Indy, a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, as the star pup. Good Boy made a splash at SXSW, earning praise for Indy's performance and emotional depth. Leonberg, Indy's real-life owner, finds the accolades amusing, emphasizing that Indy was simply enjoying himself during filming, unaware of his role in the movie.
Inspired by the idea of animals sensing supernatural forces, Leonberg crafted the concept for Good Boy after watching Poltergeist. Co-written with Alex Cannon and co-produced by Leonberg's wife, Kari Fischer, the film was shot over three years in and around a New Jersey farmhouse. Good Boy's fresh perspective and engaging storyline have captivated audiences and critics alike, making it a standout in the horror genre.
