Liverpool City Council Leader, Councillor Liam Robinson inaugurated the new Aspire Executive Lounge at the airport, marking the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by guests from various sectors. The lounge, operated by Swissport, replaces the smaller Aspire Lounge and has been expanded to accommodate the growing demand from airport users. With over three times the floor space of the previous facility, the new lounge can now cater to more than 200 guests and offers a two-tiered experience - classic Aspire facilities and the upgraded Luxe by Aspire option for adults only. Additionally, the lounge features dedicated toilet facilities and has created 20 new jobs at the airport.
The Aspire Executive Lounge, located after the World Duty Free area, is a significant investment by Swissport and is open from 4am to 9pm. Passengers can book their space online in advance and the lounge accepts priority passes and tour operator bookings. The new facility has already received positive feedback from passengers who appreciate the spacious and premium environment. The lounge's design includes a cityscape mural reflecting the rich history of the City Region, offering travelers a relaxing start to their journey in the Departure Lounge.
