Chico State students have successfully completed the construction of a race car after investing two years, over 10,000 hours, and the collaborative efforts of more than 50 students. The vehicle, crafted by the Chico State Formula SAE Club, was meticulously built from scratch, with only the engine, battery, and a few minor components being sourced externally. Last Friday marked the inaugural test drive of the car, a moment described as "amazing" by Adam Quinones, the club's marketing team member, who expressed his satisfaction with the project's progress over the past two years.

This weekend, the Chico State Formula SAE Club will showcase their car at the NorCal Shootout event at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, organized by the Sacramento State Formula SAE team. Participating schools from the West Coast, including prestigious institutions like UCLA, UC Berkeley, and a Canadian team, will gather to evaluate the performance of their vehicles. The primary objective of the club is to construct and race cars, making the upcoming event a highly anticipated opportunity to witness their creation in action.
