Gear Up for the Showdown at the Arroyo IV Mountain Bike Race in Harlingen
Harlingen is getting ready for the annual Showdown at the Arroyo IV mountain bike race happening at the Arroyo trails this weekend. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11, and Sunday, Oct. 12, at Arroyo Park on 1101 E. New Hampshire St. Organized by Bicycle World RGV and Valley Off-Road Bicycling Association (VORBA), the race is part of the Texas Mountain Bike Racing Association Fall Texas Cup Series. Assistant Parks and Recreation Juan Mendiola III encourages everyone to come and enjoy the event, as it might spark a new passion for biking. He also invites citizens and organizations to share ideas with the city's parks and recreation department for future biking events.
