Minecraft Sequel Release Date Announced: July 23, 2027

Warner Bros. Pictures has announced the release date for the upcoming "Minecraft" sequel, set to hit theaters on July 23, 2027. The film will be directed by Jared Hess, who is also co-writing the script with Chris Galletta. Plot details for the sequel are currently under wraps.

The production team for the sequel includes Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Roy Lee, Eric McLeod, Kayleen Walters, Torfi Frans Ólafsson, and Jason Momoa. The first installment, "A Minecraft Movie," had a successful debut with a record-breaking domestic opening and has grossed over $424 million to date, becoming the top-grossing film of 2025 in the domestic box office.
