Knight Insurance Group's Chili Cook-Off: Fostering Camaraderie and Celebrating Rivalry

As the fall football season kicks off, chili becomes a popular choice for tailgating. In anticipation of the Battle of I-75 game, employees from Knight Insurance Group in downtown Toledo participated in a chili cook-off themed around the rivalry between Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo. The event aimed to foster camaraderie among employees and celebrate the spirit of competition.

Six employees showcased their culinary skills by preparing chili recipes representing either university. A panel of judges, including radio personality Denny Schaffer and WTOL 11 sports reporter Tyler Seggerman, tasted each chili to determine the winner. Stephanie Ehman's "Rocket Fuel" chili emerged victorious, followed by Allison Hammons' "Falcon Good" chili in second place and Natalie Messenger's "Tongue Torcher" chili in third place after a tiebreaker.

The top three winners received gold, silver, and bronze cooking spoons, as well as gift cards, for their outstanding performances. This chili cook-off marked the beginning of unique experiences planned by Knight Insurance Group to celebrate its employee-owned status, distinguishing it as the only employee-owned insurance firm in the region for the past four years.

With the cook-off concluded, all eyes are now on the Battle of I-75 football game scheduled for noon on Saturday in Bowling Green. The event not only showcased culinary talents but also highlighted the friendly rivalry between the two universities and the spirit of teamwork among employees.
