Darius McCrary Arrested for Failure to Pay Child Support: Legal Troubles Continue for 'Family Matters' Star

Actor and singer Darius McCrary, famous for his role as Eddie Winslow on the popular 90s sitcom "Family Matters," was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol on October 5th for an out-of-state warrant. He is currently being held without bail in a San Diego jail due to a missed court appearance related to failure to pay child support. This is not the first time McCrary has faced legal issues regarding child support, as he was previously arrested for the same reason in 2015 and 2023.
McCrary's representative, Ann Barlow, confirmed that the arrest warrant out of Michigan was the result of his failure to pay child support. The actor's 2017 divorce from Tammy Brawner, a former Harlem Globetrotter, also led to legal complications. Brawner was granted full custody of their daughter Zoey, and McCrary was required to attend programs addressing drug and alcohol abuse as well as abusive behavior in order to receive visitation rights.
McCrary's first court date following his recent arrest is set for October 15th. Despite attempts to reach out to his representative for comment, there has been no response so far. It is essential for individuals to fulfill their legal obligations, especially when it comes to child support, to avoid facing consequences such as arrest and imprisonment.
