Insights on Sean 'Diddy' Combs' Potential Stay at FCI Fort Dix's RDAP Program: Lessons from Joe Giudice

Sean "Diddy" Combs' legal team has requested that he be sent to FCI Fort Dix's Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) to serve his sentence. Former "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Joe Giudice, who served time at the same facility, shared insights on what Combs can expect. Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison on federal charges. Giudice served his sentence at Fort Dix from 2016 to 2019 for conspiracy, bankruptcy fraud, and tax offenses. FCI Fort Dix is a federal correctional facility in New Jersey.
Combs' lawyer, Teny Geragos, filed a letter requesting that Judge Arun Subramanian recommend Fort Dix for Combs. The RDAP program at Fort Dix would allow Combs to address drug abuse issues and maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts. Leonard, Giudice's lawyer, highlighted the benefits of Combs serving his sentence at the low-security prison and the opportunities provided by the RDAP program.
The RDAP program at Fort Dix is a highly sought-after program for eligible prisoners, offering a 6 to 12 month intensive therapeutic program. Completing the program could potentially reduce Combs' sentence, leading to an earlier release date. However, placement in the program is not guaranteed and requires good behavior.
Family visitation is a significant advantage for Combs, as his children pleaded for leniency during his sentencing. Giudice emphasized the importance of family visits during his own time at Fort Dix. He also mentioned witnessing violence and gang activity at the facility.
Leonard visited Fort Dix's satellite camp and was surprised by the inmates' freedom of movement. The camp setting allows inmates to move around the grounds of the prison complex. FCI Fort Dix houses over 4,100 male inmates, with the minimum-security satellite camp accommodating around 200 inmates.
The prison's location on a military Air Force base in southern New Jersey, close to New York and Philadelphia, makes it an appealing choice for Combs. The Bureau of Prisons will make the final decision on where Combs serves his sentence.
