Steel Mill: Pioneering Original Rock Music in the Shore Area

Steel Mill, formerly known as Child, is a four-man rock group that has gained a significant following in the Shore area. The band consists of Bruce Springsteen on guitar, Danny Federici on keyboards, Vine Lopez on drums, and Vinnie Roslin on bass. After returning from California, where they received praise for their music, Steel Mill is ready to perform at Ocean County College. The band's sound combines hard rock and country elements, with a focus on original material written by Springsteen.

Steel Mill is eager to play at colleges and concert halls, moving away from nightclubs that prefer cover songs. They aim to encourage other local groups to create original music and believe there is untapped talent in the area. The band formed about a year ago, with members coming from different musical backgrounds. They honed their sound through daily practices at a surfboard factory in the Industrial Park under the guidance of their manager, Tinker.

The band made their debut at a free concert in Long Branch last summer and continued to perform at various venues, building a loyal fan base through word-of-mouth. Their trip to California exposed them to audiences appreciative of original music, earning them recognition from critics and industry professionals. Now back home, Steel Mill hopes to support and showcase local talent, emphasizing the importance of nurturing and promoting artists in the community.

Steel Mill's dedication to their craft and commitment to original music sets them apart in a music scene saturated with cover bands. They believe in the potential of the Shore area to become a hub for talented musicians and envision themselves as a driving force in putting the region on the map in the music industry. With their unique sound and passion for creating authentic music, Steel Mill aims to establish themselves as a prominent band in the music scene, paving the way for other local artists to thrive and succeed.
