Missed Opportunities and Milestones: The Story Behind the Welsh Rock Band's Decision-Making

The rock band recently shared the reasons behind their decision to decline the opportunity to perform at Glastonbury Festival on the pyramid stage. According to Gruff Rhys, they had to turn down the offer in 2001 because their sound guy was on holiday in France at the time. Additionally, they also passed on the chance to support Oasis in 1996 due to their lower billing on the lineup compared to The Bootleg Beatles.
In another missed opportunity, the band revealed that they were offered the opportunity to open for U2 but had to decline because the flat fee offered was insufficient to cover their expenses. Currently commemorating the 20th anniversary of their 2005 album 'Love Kraft', the band is set to release a reissue of the album on October 24th, featuring bonus tracks on various formats.
As they gear up for their 2026 tour, the Welsh rock band is getting ready to kick off the tour with a show at Dublin's Olympia Theatre on May 6th. The tour will culminate with two shows at London's O2 Academy Brixton on May 22nd and 23rd. The band emphasized that their upcoming tour will showcase their collective contributions to their music and will be a natural and authentic experience for both the band and their fans.
