Montreal Canadiens Secure Long-Term Extensions for Lane Hutson, Jeff Gorton, and Kent Hughes

The Montreal Canadiens have recently secured a long-term contract extension for Lane Hutson and are now finalizing deals for Executive Vice-President of Hockey Operations Jeff Gorton and General Manager Kent Hughes. Reports indicate that the organization is in the final stages of extending their contracts, with owner Geoff Molson preventing other teams from approaching Gorton on multiple occasions. Gorton joined the team in November 2021, while Hughes was hired in January 2022. Together, they have overseen significant roster additions, including Ivan Demidov, Lane Hutson, Juraj Slafkovsky through the draft, and Noah Dobson via trade. The Canadiens also made a playoff appearance last season, marking their first since reaching the Stanley Cup Final in 2021.
