Stealth Returns: Exploring the World of Splinter Cell: Deathwatch

After a long hiatus since the last Splinter Cell game in 2013, fans of the franchise are in for a treat with the upcoming Splinter Cell series. This new project, created by Derek Kolstad of John Wick and Nobody fame, continues the story of the iconic character Sam Fisher. Guillaume Dousse, known for his work on Love, Death & Robots, is directing the series, which follows an older Sam Fisher returning to 4th Echelon to face a new threat and confront his past.
Dousse and his team at Sun Creature Studio are tasked with bringing the beloved Splinter Cell universe to life on screen. While certain iconic elements like Sam Fisher and his signature goggles are essential to the series, some aspects, like Sam's famous split move, didn't make it into the adaptation. The director aims to balance the emotional stakes of the characters, particularly for McKenna, with the intricate plots and conspiracies that tie back to Sam's history.
The series kicks off with Sam Fisher enjoying a peaceful life in seclusion, only to be thrust back into action when enemies target a 4th Echelon member, disrupting his solitude. As an older and perhaps more world-weary version of Sam, viewers will witness his return to the field and the challenges he faces as he dons his goggles once again.
Splinter Cell: Deathwatch promises to deliver an engaging narrative that stays true to the essence of the video game franchise. With eight 30-minute episodes, this adaptation brings the stealthy world of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell to a new medium, offering fans a fresh take on the beloved character and his adventures.
