World Cup Ticket Sales: Over 1 Million Sold and Counting

The upcoming World Cup has already sold over 1 million tickets, with the highest demand coming from the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Fans from 212 countries and territories have purchased tickets, with England, Germany, Brazil, Spain, Colombia, Argentina, and France also among the top buyers. The tournament will take place from June 11 to July 19, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed excitement about the global interest in the event.

The ticket sales process involved a lottery selection from 4.5 million applicants, with the next draw opening on Oct. 27. Single-match tickets for all 104 games, as well as venue- and team-specific tickets, will be available for purchase. The tournament will be held across 16 North American venues, with approximately 7.1 million seats to fill.

Ticket prices vary, with the lowest-priced seats starting at $60 for some matches. The opening match for the U.S. had prices ranging from $560 to $2,735. Fans can choose seats from four categories, with Category 1 offering the best views and Category 4 located higher up in the stadiums. Ticket costs are subject to change due to dynamic pricing.

The second phase of ticket sales will take place from mid-November to early December, followed by a random selection draw after the final team draw on Dec. 5. Tickets will also be available on a first-come, first-served basis closer to the tournament. FIFA has opened an official resale platform for tickets, providing fans with additional opportunities to secure seats for the World Cup.
