Painter": Walton Goggins and Amber Midthunder Team Up in Action-Packed Film by Derek Kolstad
Walton Goggins has been cast alongside Amber Midthunder in the upcoming action film "Painter," a project created by Derek Kolstad, the mastermind behind John Wick. The movie has been acquired by 20th Century Studios, with James Cameron serving as an executive producer. The film marks the directorial debut of Garrett Warren, a seasoned stunt coordinator who has collaborated with Cameron on previous projects.
The storyline of "Painter" revolves around a young woman who is forced to utilize all her skills to rescue her kidnapped father. Amber Midthunder, known for her role in 20th Century's "Predator" movie "Prey," will portray the young woman, while Walton Goggins will take on the role of the father. Originally a sales title from FilmNation at AFM, the project gained attention for Warren's directorial debut and Kolstad's fresh narrative, ultimately catching the interest of James Cameron, who brought it to 20th Century Studios.
The production of "Painter" will be overseen by Drew Simon and Sam Speiser of FilmNation's Infrared Pictures, along with Kolstad and his manager Josh Adler. J.R. Young will supervise the project for 20th Century Studios. Amber Midthunder has had a successful year, starring in Paramount's action film "Novocaine" and A24's thriller "Opus." She will also feature in the series adaptation of Stephen King's novel "Carrie" for Prime Video. On the other hand, Walton Goggins has had a remarkable year, with standout performances in HBO's "The White Lotus" and the final season of "The Righteous Gemstones."
Goggins also appeared in the film "The Uninvited," directed by his wife Nadia Conners, which premiered at the South by Southwest Festival. He is set to reprise his role as The Ghoul in Amazon's popular series "Fallout." Amber Midthunder is represented by CAA, Corner Booth Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen, while Walton Goggins is represented by CAA and Darris Hatch Management.
