America’s Marines 250: Celebrating the Legacy at Camp Pendleton with Vice President JD Vance and Distinguished Guests

The 250th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps is being celebrated at Camp Pendleton, Calif., with Vice President JD Vance and other Marines in attendance. The event, titled "America’s Marines 250: From Sea to Shore — A Review of Amphibious Strength," will include a live-fire amphibious assault demonstration showcasing Navy and Marine Corps operations across air, land, and sea. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of the Navy John Phelan, and Commandant of the Marine Corps General Eric M. Smith will also be present at the celebration.

The Marine Corps was originally founded on Nov. 10, 1775, during the Revolutionary War but was disbanded after the war. It was officially reestablished as a permanent military service under the Secretary of the Navy on July 11, 1798. Vice President JD Vance, who enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school, is the first Marine to serve as Vice President. Vance and Hegseth are scheduled to speak at the event, which will be broadcast live on LiveNOW from FOX.
