Dexter Regional High School Wins $25,000 in T-Mobile's 'Friday Night Lights' Giveaway

Dexter Regional High School had a significant day on Saturday when they were awarded a $25,000 check during halftime of their game against Houlton as part of T-Mobile's "Friday Night Lights" giveaway. The national contest aims to support small towns in enhancing their athletic facilities, and Dexter was recognized as a finalist for the prize. With a population of just under 4,000 residents, Dexter qualified for the competition, which targets communities with populations under 150,000. The school's Athletic Director, Adam Gudroe, expressed that the funds would be utilized for various upgrades such as improving the football tower, adding a track around the field, or constructing a new weight room for athletes.

Currently, Dexter is in third place for the $1 million grand prize, and they need to significantly increase their votes to secure the top spot. Voting for the competition will conclude on Friday. In addition to the financial boost, Dexter's football team also celebrated a triumphant 50-8 victory over Houlton on the same day.
