The video, shared on Trump's Truth Social platform, featured Loggins' song "Danger Zone" from the movie "Top Gun." Loggins stated that he was not consulted for permission and urged for the video's removal, emphasizing the need for unity rather than division.
Despite Loggins' objection, the video remained on Truth Social as of Tuesday morning. This incident is not the first time musicians have raised concerns about Trump using their music without permission. Loggins reiterated his stance on the matter, emphasizing the importance of coming together as Americans and fostering patriotism.
In response to the controversy, Loggins' representatives reiterated his initial statement. The White House, on the other hand, shared a still from "Top Gun" with a playful caption. Trump has previously used music in AI videos, such as Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear the Reaper" in a post featuring Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought.
