Grateful Ducks: Nike x Grateful Dead x University of Oregon Air Max 90 Collaboration

Nike and the Grateful Dead have joined forces to create a unique Air Max 90 design and apparel collection in honor of the University of Oregon. This collaboration pays tribute to Eugene, the university's hometown, and highlights the annual "Grateful Ducks" game on October 25 at Oregon's home field. The release celebrates the longstanding connection between the band, the city of Eugene, Nike's hometown, and the university.
The Grateful Dead x University of Oregon x Nike Air Max 90 'Grateful Ducks' design features a vibrant tie-dye colorway with neon accents. The Swoosh is crafted from fuzzy material inspired by the Grateful Dead Bears, while the heel panel showcases green and yellow Dead emblems in place of the traditional Nike logo. Rainbow stitching adorns the upper, creating a cohesive look. The tongue displays the University of Oregon logo, and lace charms pay homage to the school's mascot, The Oregon Duck. Co-branding on the insoles and tongue adds the finishing touches to the design.
The Grateful Dead has a special connection with Oregon, particularly Eugene, where they have performed numerous shows since the 1960s. Archivist David Lemieux has referred to the university as the band's "home away from home." The release of the 'Grateful Ducks' collection, including the Nike Air Max 90 and coordinating apparel, is set for October 24, 2025, on Nike SNKRS. Details about availability in the UK are yet to be confirmed. Stay updated by following us on Instagram for the latest information and updates on this release.
