Jeremy Allen White Opens Up About Losing His Voice While Recording Bruce Springsteen's 'Born in the U.S.A.' for 'Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere

Jeremy Allen White recently shared his experience of losing his voice after recording Bruce Springsteen's song 'Born in the U.S.A.' for the upcoming movie 'Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere'. The film, directed by Scott Cooper, is a biographical musical drama based on Springsteen's struggles during the creation of his album 'Nebraska'. White stars as Springsteen alongside Jeremy Strong, Paul Walter Hauser, Stephen Graham, and Odessa Young.

White had limited time for vocal training to prepare for his role as Springsteen in the biopic. He aimed to perform the songs with honesty and connect with the lyrics to do justice to the music. While trying to get closer to Springsteen's voice, White faced challenges, especially while recording 'Born in the U.S.A.', which led to him losing his voice for a couple of days.

Despite 'Born in the U.S.A.' not being part of the Nebraska album, Springsteen recorded a demo for the song while working on the album. White had to learn to play the guitar and sing like Springsteen within seven months for the role. He admitted feeling like an alien during his first guitar lesson but persevered through repetition to master the skills required for the character.

'Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere' is set to hit theaters on October 24, offering audiences a glimpse into Springsteen's personal and professional journey during the creation of his iconic album.
