Sunfest Celebrates 50 Years: A Milestone Event in Ocean City, Maryland

Ocean City, Maryland is gearing up for the 50th annual Sunfest, a beloved festival that will take place from Thursday, October 23 to Sunday, October 26. Sunfest has become a staple event in the Delmarva region, attracting a large number of visitors each year. Mayor Rick Meehan expressed his excitement for the milestone, highlighting how Sunfest has evolved from a simple summer extension to a cherished tradition that brings the community together.
Throughout its 50-year history, Sunfest has featured a diverse array of artists, musicians, and vendors, transforming the Inlet Parking Lot into a vibrant festival venue. This year, attendees can expect to browse through the creations of over 200 artisans while enjoying performances by nationally recognized artists on the main stage. The festival will also offer family-friendly activities such as the Halloween Beach Maze, Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade, Great Pumpkin Race, bonfires on the beach, and the thrilling Delmarva Dock Dogs competition.
To ensure a smooth experience for visitors, the City recommends utilizing the Town's Park and Ride services, as parking at the festival grounds is limited. The West Ocean City Park and Ride on Route 50 provides free parking and shuttle service to and from the South Transit Center on South Division Street, just a block away from Sunfest. The shuttle service is available for a nominal fee of four dollars for an all-day pass.
