Jackson Avery Returns to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in 'Goodbye Horses': What to Expect in the Upcoming Episode of Grey's Anatomy

Jackson Avery, portrayed by Jesse Williams, is set to make a return to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in the upcoming episode of Grey's Anatomy. Following the events of the previous episode, Jackson is seen walking through the hospital halls alongside chief resident Ben Warren for a warm welcome from the hospital staff. The teaser hints at Jackson's presence in the fourth episode titled "Goodbye Horses," where the interns face a bizarre trauma, and Meredith is forced into a tense partnership for a complex breast reconstruction.

Jesse Williams joined Grey's Anatomy in the sixth season as one of the residents from Mercy West and later became a series regular in Season 7. Throughout his time on the show, Jackson's character went through various personal and professional challenges, including love, heartbreak, and growth. Despite leaving the show in Season 17, Williams has made several returns, including a romantic reunion with ex-wife April Kepner in Season 18 and intervening in the feud between Meredith and his mother, Catherine Fox, in Season 21.

In the current season, Jackson's return marks the second major cameo from a former Grey's star, following Kelly McCreary's appearance as Maggie Pierce. The last we saw of Jackson, he and April were happily living together in Boston with their daughter, Harriet, as Jackson pursued his dreams of running the Catherine Fox Foundation. Fans will have to tune in to the upcoming episode to see if there have been any significant changes in Jackson's life since then.

Don't miss Jackson Avery's return to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in the next episode of Grey's Anatomy on Thursday, October 30 at 10/9c on ABC.
