Massachusetts Student Wins $500,000 Field Goal Contest on ESPN's College GameDay

A student from Massachusetts recently made headlines by winning $500,000 in a field goal contest on ESPN's College GameDay at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee. Tyler Hwang, a sophomore at the college and a Dover-Sherborn High School graduate, was the fortunate winner chosen through a raffle of the first 300 students to arrive at College GameDay. Hwang successfully kicked a 33-yard field goal, securing the half-million-dollar prize. As a chemical engineering and economics double major, he expressed his intention to use some of the money to assist his parents with his education expenses. The excitement and disbelief were palpable as Hwang shared his plans after the remarkable kick. The kick was praised by analyst Kirk Herbstreit as the best they have seen on the show.
