Rebuilding Through Music: A Concert for Altadena Benefit Event Featuring Top Artists

A year after the devastating Eaton fire, musicians are coming together for a benefit concert called A Concert for Altadena. The event aims to raise funds and unite the community through performances by artists like Jackson Browne, Dawes & Friends, Aloe Blacc, Jenny Lewis, Everclear, Stephen Stills, Mandy Moore, Brandon Flowers of the Killers, and more. Many of the performers have connections to Los Angeles and Altadena, with Dawes, an indie band from Altadena, standing out for their lively rendition of “I Love L.A.” at the Grammys. Actor John C. Reilly and Mandy Moore, who both lost their homes in the fire, will also be part of the event.

Grammy winner Eric Krasno, an Altadena resident, emphasized the power of music to bring people together for a greater cause. He helped organize the concert and will perform at the event. Kevin Lyman, the founder of the Vans Warped Tour and a longtime Altadena resident, is serving as the lead producer, highlighting the community's resilience and unity in the face of adversity.

The Concert for Altadena will donate all proceeds to the Pasadena Community Foundation’s Eaton Fire Relief & Recovery Fund and the Altadena Builds Back Foundation. These organizations support families affected by the fire and focus on the long-term recovery of housing in the area. The Eaton fire, one of California's most destructive wildfires, claimed 19 lives and destroyed over 9,000 structures across nearly 22 square miles. Rebuilding efforts have been hindered by bureaucratic challenges and high costs, making community support crucial for the recovery process.

Scheduled for January 7 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, the benefit concert will kick off its presale today, with general ticket sales starting on November 7. The event promises to be a night of music, solidarity, and hope as Altadena continues to rebuild and heal from the tragedy.
