Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere" Film: A Michigan Connection to Bruce Springsteen's Roots

A new film titled "Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere" focuses on rock legend Bruce Springsteen's roots in New Jersey but also features some Michigan talent. Grand Rapids native Paul Walter Hauser stars as Springsteen's assistant and recording engineer for the "Nebraska" album sessions. Greta Van Fleet members Jake and Sam Kiszka appear in the film as part of the house band at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey, and also recorded songs for the soundtrack album. The opportunity came through Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb, who recommended the band for the project.

Recording sessions for the film took place at the Power Station in New York City, where the band recorded songs with actor Jeremy Allen White, who portrays Springsteen in the movie. The recordings impressed Springsteen, leading to their inclusion in the film. The experience of filming at the Stone Pony was described as overwhelming but positive, with interactions with Springsteen being casual and enjoyable. The Kiszkas are excited to watch the film with their family in Michigan.

Despite the film's mixed reviews and box office performance, the Kiszkas are looking forward to seeing the final product. Jake Kiszka is busy with his new band Mirador, while Sam is producing other artists. Greta Van Fleet is planning a return to active duty soon, with new music and surprises on the horizon. The next year promises to be exciting for the band and their fans.
