Nikola Topic Begins Chemotherapy Treatment for Testicular Cancer: Oklahoma City Thunder Guard's Journey to Recovery

Oklahoma City Thunder player Nikola Topic has recently started chemotherapy treatment following a diagnosis of testicular cancer, as confirmed by the team's general manager, Sam Presti. The 20-year-old guard, who was the 12th overall pick in the 2024 draft, had already missed the previous season due to a torn ACL injury. Topic underwent a biopsy at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston in early October, and upon receiving the results, he requested that his diagnosis be kept private until he began chemotherapy.
Despite his ongoing treatment, doctors are optimistic about Topic's long-term prognosis. While undergoing chemotherapy, Topic has been able to continue working out, but there is currently no set timeline for his return to the NBA court. The Thunder organization has respected Topic's wishes to keep his diagnosis confidential until he was ready to share the news publicly.
