Det. Marty Hart Won't Return to True Detective: Woody Harrelson's Stance on Revisiting the Hit HBO Series

Det. Marty Hart, played by Woody Harrelson, will not be making a return to HBO's True Detective alongside Matthew McConaughey, who portrayed Det. Rust Cohle. Harrelson expressed his firm stance on not revisiting the show in a recent interview. Despite the success of their season, which garnered critical acclaim and multiple award nominations, Harrelson believes that doing another season would diminish the impact of their previous work. Following their season, other actors have taken on leading roles in the anthology series, including Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, Mahershala Ali, and more. While Harrelson has no plans to return to True Detective, he and McConaughey are collaborating on a new comedy project, Brother From Another Mother, where they will play themselves attempting to live together on McConaughey's Texas ranch. The series is set to air on Apple TV, but a release date has not been announced.
