Madrid Bound: Woody Allen's Next Film Venture

Woody Allen, the renowned director, is set to film his next movie in Madrid after facing setbacks in Italy and Barcelona. Securing €1.5 million from the Madrid Regional Government, Allen will produce the film through his banner Gravier Production and Spain’s Wanda Vision. The agreement requires the film to include Madrid in its title, with the funding divided into three payments based on the movie's international success, including a premiere at a major festival like the Berlinale. The project, tentatively titled "Wasp 2026," is part of a sponsorship by the community of Madrid for the promotional campaign of the film.
Acknowledged as a versatile artist in the film industry, Woody Allen has a history of shooting films in Spain, notably "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" and "Rifkin’s Festival." Despite facing controversies and challenges in raising funds due to his personal life issues, Allen remains passionate about filmmaking. In an interview, he expressed his love for French cinema classics and hinted that his latest film, "Coup de Chance," might be his final project. While representatives for Allen, Gravier Production, and Wanda Vision have not commented on the upcoming film, the director's dedication to his craft continues to drive his creative endeavors.
