The Cure: Live at Troxy 2024 - Concert Film Release and New Album Teaser

The Cure has revealed that they will be releasing a live movie of their Troxy show from last year. The show, which took place on November 1, 2024, at London's Troxy, featured the band performing their most recent album, 'Songs Of A Lost World', in its entirety, followed by a set of vintage songs and tracks from their 1980 album 'Seventeen Seconds', and an energetic encore. The 'Songs Of A Lost World' section was later released as a live album titled 'Songs Of A Live World Troxy London MMXXIV', with all royalties going to the charity War Child. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the full show, and now The Cure has announced that the concert film will be available in cinemas worldwide from December 11, with a Blu-Ray and DVD release to follow later in the month.
The entire 31-song performance has been remixed, recut, and 4K remastered for the release, with a new Dolby Atmos sound mix by Robert Smith. Tickets for the cinema showings will go on sale on November 20, with various celebrities and musicians in attendance at the original Troxy show, including Billie Joe Armstrong, Ed O'Brien, Boy George, and members of Duran Duran. The band also confirmed that they have recorded 13 songs for a new album, the follow-up to 'Songs Of A Lost World', hinting at more new music to come in the future.
The Cure's performance at the Troxy was a memorable one, with NME describing the feel of the show as a natural addition to the band's 'dark trilogy' of albums. The live album will feature only the tracks from 'Songs Of A Lost World', but the band treated the audience to a mix of hits and favorites from their extensive career. With plans for a new album in the works and rumors of a special show at London's Royal Albert Hall, The Cure continues to captivate fans with their unique sound and timeless music.
