UMD Bulldogs Secure Thrilling Overtime Victory Against UND with Plante Brothers Leading the Charge

The University of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey team secured a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory against the University of North Dakota, thanks to the standout performances of brothers Zam and Max Plante. The Bulldogs' road success continued as they notched their sixth win away from home this season.
UMD set the tone early in the game with a goal from Max Plante during a penalty kill situation. Despite UND's efforts to level the score, a well-executed passing play involving Max Plante and Jayson Shaugabay resulted in Zam Plante finding the back of the net to give UMD a 2-1 lead heading into the second intermission.
The Bulldogs extended their lead in the third period with a power play goal from Max Plante, but UND fought back with two late goals to force overtime. However, UMD wasted no time in the extra period, as Ty Hanson capitalized on a scoring opportunity to secure the victory and extend their winning streak to five games.
Goalie Adam Gajan played a crucial role in the win, making 25 saves to help UMD maintain their lead. Despite being outshot by UND, the Bulldogs' solid penalty kill and power play performances proved to be the difference in the game. With this win, UMD improves to 8-1-0 on the season, while UND drops to 4-3-0 overall and 0-1-0 in NCHC play.
