Rush Reunion Tour 2026: The Fifty Something Tour

Geddy Lee, the bassist of Rush, revealed that the band's upcoming 2026 reunion tour was inspired by a spa retreat he took with guitarist Alex Lifeson in Europe. The idea of reuniting had been discussed before, but concerns about Lifeson's health had put those plans on hold. However, after a rejuvenating stay at a health resort in Austria, Lifeson felt optimistic about his health and ability to perform again. This led to the announcement of a 12-date reunion tour, which quickly expanded to 58 shows due to overwhelming fan demand.
The tour, named the Fifty Something tour, will kick off on June 7, 2026, in Inglewood, Calif., and conclude with two nights in Vancouver on Dec. 15 and 17. Rush will visit various cities in the U.S. and Canada, including Toronto, Montreal, and Edmonton. This tour marks the band's first since 2015, following the passing of their drummer, Neil Peart, in 2020. German drummer Anika Nilles will join the band for the reunion tour, replacing Peart.
Lee expressed excitement about the upcoming tour, noting that they have rehearsed numerous songs with Nilles and are working on a setlist of around 38 songs. While the absence of Peart is deeply felt, Lee and Lifeson are committed to delivering a memorable performance. Despite the challenges, Lee remains optimistic about the reunion and the joy it brings to both the band and their fans.
As Rush prepares to embark on their reunion tour, Lee emphasized the importance of pursuing happiness and following one's passions, especially in uncertain times. The band's journey back to the stage is a testament to their enduring friendship and dedication to their music. The world may be chaotic, but for Rush, the music remains a source of joy and inspiration.
