2021 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade: A Spectacular Lineup of Performers, Balloons, and Floats Await!
This year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will feature a diverse lineup of performers, including Ciara, Foreigner, Lil Jon, Kool & the Gang, Busta Rhymes, Mickey Guyton, and Teyana Taylor. The parade will also showcase the pop culture phenomenon "KPop Demon Hunters," with appearances by the movie's singers and characters in balloons overhead. Stars like ballet dancer Tiler Peck and YouTube's Sean Evans will join the holiday kick-off, along with Audrey Nuna, EJAE, and Rei Ami of HUNTR/X, the fictional girl group from the Netflix hit. The parade will feature 32 balloons, three balloonicles, 27 floats, 33 clown groups, and 11 marching bands, all leading the way for Santa Claus. Broadway cast members, the Radio City Rockettes, figure skater Ilia Malinin, and Paralympian Jack Wallace will also be part of the festivities. The parade will air on NBC and Peacock, with more stars to be announced later.
This year's parade will introduce four new character balloons, including Buzz Lightyear, Pac-Man, Mario from Super Mario Brothers, and a balloon onion carriage featuring characters from "Shrek." In anticipation of the parade's 100th anniversary next year, organizers will include balloons from previous years, such as Rainbow trout, the Happy Hippo Triple Stack, Wigglefoot, and Freida the Dachshund. Six new floats will debut, including ones from Holland America Line, Lego, Lindt chocolates, "Stranger Things," and a whimsical sheep-themed float from Serta. The parade will also feature a star-studded lineup of performers, including Debbie Gibson, Drew Baldridge, Matteo Bocelli, Colbie Caillat, Gavin DeGraw, and more. Marching bands from various states and countries, including South Carolina, California, Texas, and Panama, will add to the festive atmosphere.
