Snowfall" Spinoff Series: Exploring 90s Los Angeles Rap Scene

FX has ordered a spinoff series based on the hit show "Snowfall." The new series will feature familiar faces from the original show, including Gail Bean and Isaiah John. Joining them are Asante Blackk, Peyton Alex Smith, and Simmie Sims III. Set in 90s Los Angeles, the untitled drama will follow a recovering addict (Bean) as she navigates the West Coast rap scene amidst a gang war.
Malcolm Spellman will write and executive produce the series, with several "Snowfall" alums also serving as executive producers. FX Productions is behind the production of the show. President of FX Entertainment, Nick Grad, expressed excitement about revisiting the era of West Coast rap and praised the talent involved in the new series.
"Snowfall," created by John Singleton, Eric Amadio, and Dave Andron, delved into the crack cocaine epidemic in South Central LA. The show was a hit for FX, running for six seasons from 2017 to 2023. The spinoff promises to continue the legacy of the original series with a fresh perspective and engaging storyline.
