Adam Clayton's Bass Guitar Collection: From MOSI to Nashville Auction

Adam Clayton's personal collection of 18 bass guitars is currently on display at the Museum of Style Icons (MOSI) in Newbridge, Co Kildare, before being auctioned in the U.S. The exhibition, titled “Played, Worn, & Torn Featuring The Adam Clayton Collection,” is open to the public until November 9th. These instruments have been used by the 22-time Grammy Award-winning artist during U2's global tours. A portion of the auction proceeds will benefit MusiCares.
After the exhibition in Ireland, the collection will be auctioned in Nashville, Tennessee, by Julien's Auctions. The auction will take place on November 20th and 21st, both in person and online. Over 20 items from Clayton's collection, including instruments, gear, and memorabilia, will be up for auction, with some of the proceeds going to MusiCares. This event is expected to be a significant music memorabilia event of the year.
The exhibition at MOSI showcases a diverse range of instruments from Clayton's collection, highlighting his unique taste and contribution to U2's music. Notable pieces include his 2014 Sherwood Green Fender Adam Clayton Signature Jazz Bass and his 2004 Lakland Joe Osborn J sunburst bass, both with estimated auction prices. The collection also features vintage Fender Jazz Basses and Warwick Gold Reverso basses used during the U2 360 Tour.
