Desmond Bane's Volleyball-Inspired Play Leads to Ejection: A Recap of the Orlando Magic vs. Atlanta Hawks Game

Desmond Bane of the Orlando Magic made a remarkable play during the team's game against the Atlanta Hawks, resembling a volleyball move. In the third quarter, Bane was left alone to defend against Onyeka Okongwu on a fast break with the Hawks leading 79-65.
Despite Okongwu going for a layup, Bane was determined not to allow an easy basket and fouled him, causing both players to fall to the ground. As Okongwu fell, the ball floated in the air, and Bane swatted it down off Okongwu's head, reminiscent of a volleyball spike.
Following a review, Bane was ejected from the game for a technical foul and a flagrant foul. Bane clarified that hitting Okongwu with the ball was unintentional, emphasizing the importance of preventing easy baskets and making opponents feel the impact of a hard foul.
Bane had a decent performance with nine points, three rebounds, and two assists in 23 minutes before his ejection. This season marks his sixth in the NBA and his first with the Magic after being traded from the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Magic's record dropped to 3-5 after the loss to the Hawks, and they aim to bounce back against the Boston Celtics on Friday at 7 p.m. ET. Stay updated on sports coverage by following Fox News Digital and subscribing to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
