Former NBA Player Tony Allen Arrested in Poinsett County, Arkansas for Drug Possession

A former NBA player and another individual were arrested in Poinsett County, Arkansas, after a traffic stop on Interstate 555 led to the discovery of drugs and drug paraphernalia. The driver, William Hatton, and passenger, Tony Allen, both from Memphis, were stopped by deputies near Mile Marker 18. During the stop, deputies found marijuana, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Both men were arrested and taken to the Poinsett County Detention Center.
The Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, prompting them to search the car and its occupants. Allen was found with a package of marijuana, while Hatton admitted to owning drug paraphernalia with marijuana residue. Additionally, a clear plastic wrapper with a white powdery substance, later confirmed to be cocaine, was found in a cigarette box in the passenger seat pouch.
Both Allen and Hatton were charged with possession of meth or cocaine (less than 2 grams) and possession of marijuana (less than 4 ounces). Hatton also faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and improper lane change. The vehicle was towed to Rusty’s Tow Service following the arrest.
