Justin Baldoni's Legal Battle Against Blake Lively: The Pursuit of Truth Continues

Justin Baldoni is not giving up on his legal battle against Blake Lively, as his attorney Bryan Freedman confirms that they chose not to file an amended complaint to preserve appeal rights. It remains uncertain if Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios will file an appeal, but they are currently focusing on Lively's claims and are committed to seeking the truth through legal means. They are looking forward to their day in court.
U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Liman recently entered a final judgment in the case, stating that Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios decided not to file an amended complaint in their $400 million defamation and extortion countersuit against Lively and Ryan Reynolds. Lively was the only party to respond to the judge's warning about the final judgment, requesting that her legal fees request remain active, which was granted.
Baldoni's January countersuit and $250 million libel lawsuit against the New York Times were initially dismissed in June. The court ruled that Lively was only responsible for the statements in her California Civil Rights Department complaint, which are privileged. Despite Baldoni's claims of additional statements made by Reynolds, publicist Leslie Sloane, and the New York Times, the court found that they did not seriously doubt the truth of these statements based on the available information.
Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation in December 2024, leading to a formal lawsuit later that month. The New York Times reported on her claims, but Baldoni has consistently denied them. The case is set to be tried in March 2026. Baldoni and his team are determined to pursue the truth and are prepared for the legal proceedings ahead.
