Syracuse Men's Soccer Advances to ACC Championship Quarterfinals with 2-1 Win Over Virginia Tech
The Syracuse men's soccer team, seeded No. 6, emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over No. 11 seed Virginia Tech in the First Round of the ACC Championship on November 5. Tim Brdaric's two goals were instrumental in securing the Orange's advancement to the Quarterfinal Round of the tournament. Brdaric's first goal came in the 23rd minute, followed by a near miss from Carlos Zambrano in the 27th minute. Despite a disallowed goal for offside, Syracuse maintained a 1-0 lead going into halftime. Virginia Tech equalized with a goal from Declan Quinn in the 42nd minute. Brdaric sealed the win with his second goal, securing a 2-1 victory for Syracuse.
The Orange will now progress to the quarterfinal round of the ACC Championship, where they will face NC State at the Dail Soccer Complex in Raleigh on Sunday, November 9.
