Important Safety Recall: Peloton Original Series Bike+ Seat Post Replacement

Peloton has issued a recall for nearly 878,000 of its exercise bikes in the U.S. and Canada due to a potential safety hazard. The affected models are the "Peloton Original Series Bike+" units with model number PL02, where the seat posts can break during use, leading to fall risks. The company has received reports of three incidents in the U.S., resulting in two fall injuries. Owners of these bikes are advised to stop using them and contact Peloton for a free seat post replacement.
Peloton emphasizes the importance of product integrity and customer safety, offering redesigned seat post replacements for affected Bike+ users. The company's website provides details on identifying if your bike is part of the recall and instructions for installing the new seat post if necessary. The recalled bikes were sold at various retailers and online platforms from 2020 through April 2025, with serial numbers starting with the letter "T."
In a previous recall in 2023, Peloton recalled 2 million of its original Bikes (model number PL01) due to similar issues with seat posts breaking. The Bike+ units affected by the current recall were manufactured before the 2023 recall, between December 2019 and July 2022. However, bikes produced after mid-2023 have the redesigned seat post and are not impacted by the recall. Approximately 833,000 units were sold in the U.S. and 44,800 in Canada.
Peloton is committed to ensuring the safety of its customers and has taken proactive measures to address the seat post issue in the affected Bike+ units. If you own one of these bikes, it is important to follow the recall instructions provided by Peloton to receive a free replacement seat post and continue using your exercise equipment safely.
