Latinx Artists Shine at the 68th Grammy Awards: A Celebration of Diversity in Music

The 68th Grammy Awards nominations were recently announced, with several Latinx artists receiving recognition. Bad Bunny made history by earning six nominations, becoming the first Spanish-language artist to be nominated in top categories like record of the year, album of the year, and song of the year. He also received nominations for música urbana album, global music performance, and album cover.

The Marías, led by María Zardoya, received their first Grammy nomination in the new artist category. Global girl group Katseye, featuring Daniela Avanzini, was nominated for new artist and pop duo/group performance for their track "Gabriela." Karol G's "Tropicoqueta" received a Latin pop album nomination.

Edgar Barrera received his third consecutive songwriter of the year nomination for his work with various artists. Argentine duo Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso were nominated for Latin rock or alternative album for their EP "Papota." Fuerza Regida and Grupo Frontera received a música mexicana album nomination for their joint EP "Mala Mía."

Deftones received a rock album nomination for "Private Music," marking their fourth overall Grammy nod. The Recording Academy invited Latin Recording Academy voting members to join as part of the 2025 new member class, reflecting the diversity of the music landscape.

The Grammy Awards ceremony will take place on Feb. 1 at L.A.'s Crypto.com Arena, broadcasting live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. The addition of Latin Recording Academy members highlights the mission to serve music people from all backgrounds.
